The Silta University Residence , located in Helsinki, is a non-profit residence and cultural centre for women. It was founded in 2002 as a venue for evening academic activities and, after a complete renovation of the building, reopened in 2011 as a student residence.
Its main goal is to promote understanding and appreciation among different cultures, connecting people from various countries and backgrounds — both school-age girls and university students. Silta offers a family-like and academic environment where residents and participants can grow as responsible individuals, develop their intellectual lives, and take part in cultural and volunteer activities. Furthermore, it encourages the integral development of young women, supporting both their personal growth and their commitment to society.
